Marin ReLeaf is a 501©(3), non-profit organization dedicated to educate and encourage the public in planting and care of trees, to promote appreciation and protection of trees in urban habitats. We work with ReLeaf organizations throughout the Bay Area and are affiliated with state and national ReLeaf organizations.

Marin ReLeaf is one of the founding organizations of California ReLeaf Network whose home office is in Davis, CA. Each member of the network is independent with its own funding, administration and programs. Network Members share the goal of planting and protection of trees, to foster the ethic of environmental stewardship and promoting citizen involvement.

Marin ReLeaf accomplishes its mission of good tree culture and education through a variety of programs. Our Annual Programs include the following:

• Planting Projects: Under Community Planting Projects, Marin ReLeaf will provide support to private citizens who see a need for trees in public spaces, such as schools and parks. We will offer free trees with guidance in their long term care.
• Walking Tree Tours: We will begin to offer spring and fall walking tree tours somewhere in Marin County. These tours will be led by locally, practicing, arborists who are certified by International Society of Arboriculture.
• Tree Heros: Annually we recognize an individual or group as Tree Hero, those who have done something to further arboriculture; planting and care of many trees within the county, research and science, legislation and instruction. The public is encouraged to submit names. The award is presented at a May dinner for Marin ReLeaf's friends.

Marin ReLeaf is a member of Marin County Sudden Oak Death committee (SOD). We will be looking for persons and groups to help the county Open Space District in replanting oaks in many of the areas of Marin. Please let us know if you want to be part of that planting crew.
